Cold or ?

Image
It's on the TV, it's on the radio, it's in the papers: cold, it might get cold, find your skates because finally we might be able to skate on real ice! Ice on our canals, brooks, lakes without the help of the skateclubs that spread water on tarmac and pretend it's a canal. In the meantime, let's enjoy it while we can . . . . . Ice Art Will it be true or will our hope dies in sun and rising temperature . .

A photographers paradise!

When I was in Maastricht during the Carnaval I noticed that there were a lot of photographers. So many that at some places it was difficult to take a photo without a photographer. So why not take a photo with the photographer? But Carnaval is beautiful thanks to all the people who took the time to join! See you all next year!

Carnaval, or as we like to call it Vasteloavend. . .

ALAAF ! ALAAF ! ALAAF !               Red, green and yellow are the Vasteloavend colors . .  .   Picture taken in Maastricht. Picture taken in Maastricht Every year in the southern part of the Netherlands we celebrate " Vasteloavend ". Of course there are people who like it and people who don't. Of course there are people who just go out and look and people that take part. And there are people that take pictures of all that's happening. Any combination of the possibilities is a possibility . . . So let me just say " Alaaf" as they use to say during the Vasteloavend. See you after the Vasteloavend!

How to take pictures . . . .

People ask " With what do you take your photo"s". I answer: " with my eyes". They say: " What gear". I say: " Sometimes my reading glasses, sometimes my sunglasses, sometimes nothing". They replied: "No, what camera". I say: " The one I have with me". They ask: " Do you have so many camera's?" I replied with: " No, not that many". The ultimate question " So what are you shooting now with?" I answer with:

Depresso?

Depression, serious trouble when you suffer from it. Over here it's much talk about it on the TV. They advise us to talk about it. They tell us how difficult it is to talk about it for them who suffer from it. Luckily, in my opinion, we dare to joke about it. Humor heals almost everything. Almost . . . Everything . . .
