Being in Utrecht, sun shining and have to wait near Central Station,  took the chance for a little walk to shoot some shots.   the little shield " no bicycle parking".

A sunny day in Utrecht.

It was a warm and sunny day when I took this shot near the central station where people are mostly in a hurry to catch that train or trying to be on time at their appointment. (Yes, I really like these long sentences, hope you don't mind so I don't have to change it in some shorter sentences, because, oh well you'll get it by now ;-))   Camera: Sony A7RM2 Lens: Viltrox 1.8  85mm

Fan Ho or the power and beauty of black and white

Fan Ho or the power and beauty of black and white. I n my on going battle between black and white or colour I found on the world wide web the photo's of Fan Ho.  If you enjoy looking at black and white pictures, look him up (googling). It's worth the search, believe me. He doesn't seem to take photo's anymore but the old ones from Hong Kong are great, in my opinion. He seems like a wise man when it comes about photography as he said : " it's not that I don't like  colour photographs but I've realised one thing. Colours do not fit well in my world. Black and white offers me a distance. What kind of distance? A kind of distance from real life. I think this distance is very important. Real life is multi coloured. Black and white offers a sense of detachment. It allows audiences and viewers to develop their responses and offers space and depth to ponder and contemplate my ideas"  Fan Ho. It's seem to be an ongoing discussion, do we sh

Blue ferry . .

Image
If I am traveling by car, I have the choice when planning the route to opt for with or without ferries on the route.  If possible and the time allows, I choose with ferry.  Why? I like to go with a ferry. Especially when the weather is nice you get a wonderful opportunity that gives you a breath of fresh air.  Of course you have to get out of the car.  But then you also have a wonderful ZEN moment . . . Troubles on the way . . .

Seems like a nice day. An appointment in my favourite Dutch city, Maastricht with lots of time to take pictures left. Weather conditions fine, clouds in the sky, I like that. So I decided to take the Sony A7R mark 2 with the Viltrox 85mm 1.8 AF. Just test the settings, still not completely sure with this camera, totally different from my X-Pro1, I took this shot from a passing train.  But from then on, everything went wrong. Changing in appointments, trouble with trains, even more troubles with trains,at the end of the day I was tired and happy to be home. And only one picture taken . . . . So why not go over the top with this one? I'm using Exposure X4.5 since a few weeks and like it more and more. (Not getting paid for this, they even don't know I'm writing this, as far as I know). Explore Exposure, that's what it's going to be. I made several versions of this shot and it was fun to play with this software.  and it's black and white again . .
