Floor, the meat eating lady.

Image
Every now and then she comes to visit us.  She is charming, some say,  she is cute, some say,  she eats my meat and cookies, I say. I have to get up in time to take this lady for a walk. I have to be in time home, because she's waiting. I have to take her in my beautiful car and hope she won't get sick. I have to buy extra meat and cookies, because she likes to eat that. I have to make room for her because she likes to lay on her own  pillow or in her own basket. We are all there to serve her and the funny part of it is that we seem to like it,  for a while,  and than she goes back to her home.

DAF Family Day 2018

Image
This year we got an invention to visit the Day open day. They make one of the best trucks in the world,  and once a year they have an open day for their workers and relations. This year about 30.00 people came to vist. The weather was hot and in the course of the day it's only get hotter and changes in a beautiful summer day. You could visit the factory, their museum,  because DAF is already an old brand that has an interesting history. It has always stayed with the times over the years and is now one of the most modern brands. Of course it was possible to sit in several trucks, and there has a lot changed lately.  It must be great fun for dad's to show their kids where they work and what they do.  And by the time they get bored there was still the fair, music, games. More than enough for everyone needs. It was a lovely day, thanks DAF!

Heiligdomsvaart Maastricht 2018 ~ Pilgrimage to the saint's relics

Image
Add caption The pilgrimage to the saint's relics in Maastricht draws tens of thousands every seventh year like also this year, 2018. There is a lot to organise and also on the day itself there is a little nervous mood in the city.   This year they were also working about the weather and with good reason. During the wait for the beginning there was rain and even a hailstorm.  But when starting the sun started shining and made the weather change in a hot summer day. By  supplying water, luckily, the pilgrimage made beautiful sunny Maastricht even more good-looking. The relics are kept in the Sint Servaaskerk. this church is dedicated to Saint Servatius who is still worshiped in Maastricht. Although the visit to the church has been going back for years, the appeal of the Sanctuary Procession is still very significant
