"Colour or Black and White ?", that's the question

I used to see myself as a black and white photographer that only used colour when it was specified asked for. Why? Simply because I like black and white more. For me, a colour photograph used to be a " tell how it was there". When using colours creatively I always had the feeling that the photo was not good developed. But time changes and now I start using colours more and more. But when I have to choose it's always black and white, well not always but for sure mostly.

 "Black and white gives more freedom and space to think, not everything (colours) are clear, you can make your own story", is what you hear from other photographers. True, not true, maybe true for some. 

 While cleaning up some harddisk, we seem to need more and more space, I thought why not develop some black and white shots again, but this time in full colour.

 So here are some of the results . . .

After the renovation

  yes, we did our best, but now they are on the roof, our solar panels.  The bathroom has also been renovated in between, so it was time to get out for a while.  Not too far, just a walk in nature and then also shoot a heron. Not really, of course, so no gun was involved, but with a camera.  Oh yes, and we will also go to a sunny country this year when it winters here, but more about that later. Stay healthy and optimistic, you will feel a lot better doing so . . .

Gifts, gifts.

  Apparently we are now in a period where we give a lot of presents. The period in which we received a lot of presents seems to be behind us.  Not that it's a bad thing, rather the opposite. So it turns out to be true, for us at least, that giving is better than taking.  The presents are for the little ones, the children. Wonderful to see how happy they can be, how intensely they enjoy unpacking and the surprise when the gift is unwrapped in front of them. The absolute highlight appears to be the permission to bring a present when it is time to go to sleep. Stay healthy and optimistic, the world can't do without it!
