Three Kingsday

The day before Three Kingsday there is free cake for everyone. The cake is many meters long. 
So that's a good reason to take a look.

 There is music and the statue of Jesus as a new born is in the front of the church. This is the only day in the year that this little statue is removed from the big statue it's a part of.
And of course you want a picture of your child with that statue.

 The face painting was intended for the young ones, but it's also fun to paint that handsome boy . . .

and free cake is something everyone likes.

After the renovation

  yes, we did our best, but now they are on the roof, our solar panels.  The bathroom has also been renovated in between, so it was time to get out for a while.  Not too far, just a walk in nature and then also shoot a heron. Not really, of course, so no gun was involved, but with a camera.  Oh yes, and we will also go to a sunny country this year when it winters here, but more about that later. Stay healthy and optimistic, you will feel a lot better doing so . . .

Gifts, gifts.

  Apparently we are now in a period where we give a lot of presents. The period in which we received a lot of presents seems to be behind us.  Not that it's a bad thing, rather the opposite. So it turns out to be true, for us at least, that giving is better than taking.  The presents are for the little ones, the children. Wonderful to see how happy they can be, how intensely they enjoy unpacking and the surprise when the gift is unwrapped in front of them. The absolute highlight appears to be the permission to bring a present when it is time to go to sleep. Stay healthy and optimistic, the world can't do without it!
