Life on the street

Image
Not so long ago there was a lot going on in the streets. But it feels like something from very very very long ago. Anyway it’s before Corona. I like the streets and what happened there, maybe I didn’t like it all but I like most and wanted to see it and to take photos. But now the streets are less interesting for me, we all can guess why, we all hope it will end the sooner the better.  So here is one from the old box, when life and the streets were so much “ full of life” . Yeah, we had a good time there . . .  Stay healthy and optimistic, the world still needs it.

Looking back at . . . January

Image
Yes, January is unfortunately signed by the virus. No big party at New Year's eve.  So much happened, little things, personal things, COVID tests, worries about some of our friends health. Planning to leave the Netherlands by the end of the year for several months, but are we allowed to go, is it possible to go, is it wise to go. Problems, yes, luxury problems, but COVID makes it difficult, makes everything difficult, not by much but, I agree, only a little as long as you stay healthy. But what made the biggest impression? For me, personally it was this beautiful and little bird I found in the garden, dead.  Stay healthy and optimistic, the world needs it.

The thaw has started.

Some will be sad, some won't, but the cold has gone, skating and playing in the snow is over. Some feel a bit sad now, some won't. The thaw has started and this is what it looks like  .  .   . Stay optimistic and healthy, so we can help the world.

More cold news

Image
No, No, not more snow, enough is enough. But the cold is staying, they say. So in the Netherlands they talk about ice skating.  About the possibility to skate races on real ice or as they say here : Nature Ice (= natuur ijs). And there is “ the race of all races, the eleven cities track (= de Elfstedentocht). But there’s COVID-19 and even worse, not enough cold, cause it looks like the frost will be gone after the weekend. But a lot of talking of it in TV and even political parties talking about it, has of course nothing to do with the upcoming selections . . .  So why not, while it’s still possible, take some wintershots. Stay healthy and optimistic, the world still needs it. . . .

Snow, as promised !

Image
Yes, it did happen. It’s snowing and tomorrow we can go out in the snow.  No, not now there is a curfew and you need a dog to go out.  But this is the Netherlands, land of freedom. Yes, no rules? On the official site from the government there are rules how to throw snowballs in Corona time, no joke. But a bit laughable, don’t you think? Maybe a bit patronising but it is well meant . .  Under the current rules, you may go out with people from your own household. Or alone with 1 person from outside your own household. This means that you can throw snowballs with your own household. Ice skating is allowed, with 1 friend, so in a group of 2 people. But there’s snow and a lot, so we better enjoy it while we can . . . Stay healthy and optimistic, the world needs it!

What's to be expected?

It's on the radio, on the T.V., we will have a big weather change. Right now it's above 10 degrees Celsius, but tomorrow and the upcoming days will be freezing cold with lots of snow. So we got us some extra wood to keep warm, did our necessary shoppings and then just waiting. But if it all turned out to be not that bad, I've a photo that, with a little help, looks like what might be coming . . . Stay healthy and optimistic, the world needs it

We wish we could go back,

Update: distribution is delayed due to issues at the factory . . . yes, fortunately, the vaccine is now also being distributed in the Netherlands. It is not yet our turn, through a distribution by suffering time group, function and it can look different every day. We hope to be able to return to Spain by the end of the year. We want to go to a different part of Spain. In fact, the plans have just shifted a year, what we wanted to do in 2020 will now, hopefully in 2021, become reality. We start slowly, very slowly with the preparations. Planning, we have learned in the past period, is not yet a guarantee . . .  Going back, back to Spain, or back to happiness or just good memories, who knows, we might find out as soon as we can go. But let's go back in time, I did that by searching on my harddisk and I found some photos I just like. I took them in India in 2016 and 2017. So why not showing them to you. Most of the shops in the Netherlands are still closed. Let's hope for better
