More cold news

 No, No, not more snow, enough is enough. But the cold is staying, they say. So in the Netherlands they talk about ice skating.  About the possibility to skate races on real ice or as they say here : Nature Ice (= natuur ijs). And there is “ the race of all races, the eleven cities track (= de Elfstedentocht). But there’s COVID-19 and even worse, not enough cold, cause it looks like the frost will be gone after the weekend. But a lot of talking of it in TV and even political parties talking about it, has of course nothing to do with the upcoming selections . . .  So why not, while it’s still possible, take some wintershots.




Stay healthy and optimistic, the world still needs it. . . .

After the renovation

  yes, we did our best, but now they are on the roof, our solar panels.  The bathroom has also been renovated in between, so it was time to get out for a while.  Not too far, just a walk in nature and then also shoot a heron. Not really, of course, so no gun was involved, but with a camera.  Oh yes, and we will also go to a sunny country this year when it winters here, but more about that later. Gifts, gifts.

  Apparently we are now in a period where we give a lot of presents. The period in which we received a lot of presents seems to be behind us.  Not that it's a bad thing, rather the opposite. So it turns out to be true, for us at least, that giving is better than taking.  The presents are for the little ones, the children. Wonderful to see how happy they can be, how intensely they enjoy unpacking and the surprise when the gift is unwrapped in front of them. The absolute highlight appears to be the permission to bring a present when it is time to go to sleep. Stay healthy and optimistic, the world can't do without it!
