Remember . . .



We are back in the low country. Every year on May 4, the dead of the second world war are commemorated and every year the hope is expressed that there will never be war again. Likewise this year. But with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, everything is in jeopardy.



Tomorrow, May 5, the liberation will be celebrated here. The liberation that ended the war, all wars we hoped for. And then a little old man came from Russia who thought he must be one of the greatest in the world, rewrite history, and have a monopoly on the truth. What this has led to so far is especially visible in Ukraine.


Stay healthy and peaceful, the world needs it!

  What we’re doing in the Low Lands? Just living with its troubles and happy moments. And of course enjoying the weather when it’s fine. Fair from above.

I've probably mentioned it before, but I have a soft spot for the fair. The colours, the sounds, the smells, everything, I don't know what it is about, but fair, yes, I love that.  Not to sit in the bumper cars, not to eat cotton candy, but just to stroll around the fair, that's what it's all about for me.  And today I got the chance to view the fair from above.  So enjoy! Stay happy and healthy and enjoy the nice things in life.

The Carnaval is over

The carnival is over. . . And because we like it and are still in the Low Country, we celebrate it, so on to Maastricht. And how busy it was, much busier than expected because the weather was not good.  But Carnival in the rain remains, maybe a little wetter than planned Carnival. Stay healthy and optimistic, even when the Carnaval is over . . .
