Settle down, for now. . . .



Life is slowly but surely becoming more stable. We will stay here, in the sunny country, for at least a few more months, if COVID allows. 

The weather is better than in the low country where we came from and where COVID is much stronger than here, as we learn from watching TV. 

Just like two years ago when we were also in the sunny country, we notice that life is calmer than what we are used to. 

Motorists stop here in front of every zebra that someone crosses and that is nice and still difficult getting used to.

Children wear a face mask without the difficulties that this seems to cause in the low country.

Many people wear masks in places they don't have to.

We experience the people in the sunny country as kinder and more forgiving than in the low country.

Is everything so much better in the sunny country? Probably not, but so far so good.




Stay healthy, optimistic and relax, the world still needs us and that.

  What we’re doing in the Low Lands? Just living with its troubles and happy moments. And of course enjoying the weather when it’s fine. Fair from above.

I've probably mentioned it before, but I have a soft spot for the fair. The colours, the sounds, the smells, everything, I don't know what it is about, but fair, yes, I love that.  Not to sit in the bumper cars, not to eat cotton candy, but just to stroll around the fair, that's what it's all about for me.  And today I got the chance to view the fair from above.  So enjoy! Stay happy and healthy and enjoy the nice things in life.

The Carnaval is over

The carnival is over. . . And because we like it and are still in the Low Country, we celebrate it, so on to Maastricht. And how busy it was, much busier than expected because the weather was not good.  But Carnival in the rain remains, maybe a little wetter than planned Carnival. Stay healthy and optimistic, even when the Carnaval is over . . .
