Farmers Protest
There's a lot going on. The government has decided that there is to much CO2 in the world and therefore shall the Low Land as CO2 free as possible. They seem to have made that promise in Paris during some international meeting.
Yes, the Dutch are going to save the world.
So how to do that. There are a lot of farmers in the Low Land. And they have a lot of cows. Those cows make a lot of CO2. So they start thinking and thinking and talking and talking and then they found their solution, remove all the cows. Ain't that smart?
In the LowLand are not enough houses, they've waiting too long to start building. Smart isn't it?
But now they've found out that you need place to build many houses. And there is not so much place. But cows take a lot of place, nice green place. So if we say goodbye to the cows there is a lot of place to build houses. Now ain't that smart? It's a win win, isn't it? And by now they really seem to be surprised that there are farmers who disagree. Imagine, you have the smartest idea of the whole world, more than that, you're going to save the world and some farmers refuse to corporate.
The farmers got angry, blocked highways, refuse to accept the opinion of the government. The resistance grew grim. As a result, a mediator was used. Yes, the government did understand the actions such as setting fire to tires and hay bales along the highway. Also the pulling off of the highway by tractors was looked at by the police present without taking any action. Their situation was understood.
But then the farmers did something terrible, according to the government. They hung the national tricolor upside down. Ribbons with blue-white-red were wrapped around trees, representing the ocher tricolor upside down.
Municipalities were ordered by the government to remove all flags. This really couldn't and shouldn't have happened.
This may all sound like a story, but it's really true. Pretty stupid, isn't it, for such an intelligent country.
But let's not forget, the most important thing is
to stay healthy and optimistic
